Hindi Words that are hard to translate into English

A petite introduction to the subject

Despite of the fact that English is a very lucrative language and used widely in most parts of the world. There are always certain exceptions in such cases. Hereby let us have a look at some of the words which are used in India by the Indian masses at large. On the dull side there is no literal meaning or definition for the mentioned words. Getting these words translate English to Hindi is a twisted task though.

The words that include the list are



1. Avatar

The word Avatar is a Hindi word which can be explained as the extraction of a holy soul which is from the heaven. However the word can be explained but not translated in English

2. Raas-Leela

No don’t get any wrong ideas. In India Raas-Leela is a word which has multiple meanings or definitions. And the meaning largely is reliant on type of the sentence it is being used on

3. Maya

The word Maya is a concept which the Rushi-Munis of India has been meditating for over numerous years. No one is still aware of what the word exactly means.

4. Shrungaar

The word Shrungaar is nothing but the long lasting activity through which a woman goes through when getting ready. The getting ready can be for her husband, party, occasion, wedding or many more that could be included in the list.

5. Chai-Paani

The word chai-pani is a word that comes from the Indian culture which is nothing but a light breakfast. This kind of breakfast is served to the guests on their arrival.

6. Baraamda

The word baraamda is used by the Indians from the ancient times. They used this word for explaining the veranda. 

7. Aangan

The word aangan is an Indian word used by the people who reside in the remote areas. The word aangan is a word used to explain the open area which falls in the house itself. It is an area wherein the people of the house gather up during occasions, wedding and family get together.

8. Chichora

The word chichora is an Indian word which explains an individual with an indecent character. The individual defined with this word is indecent in nature. The word is used by the masses to address an indecent individual primarily a male in majority or most of the cases

9. Panauti

Panauti is an Indian word which is used for explaining an individual who is considered at large as a bad luck or bad omen. Such individuals who are said to be panauti are seen as an unlucky personality whom nobody prefers to be around. Neither people like to talk about something which is good. Neither people discuss something which is said to be a good news.

10. Panchayati

Panchayti is a word used to describe a person who is most probably likely as well as interested in talks which are worthless and makes no sense. Or in some cases it is none of their business but still eager to know what more could be known about the subject

Conclusion

Above mentioned are some words which have no English meaning, don’t believe it, try for yourself.
