Vaccination is the best way for you
to protect your child from sixteen potentially deadly diseases. These diseases
are really serious and may require immediate hospitalization. Some of these
diseases include rotavirus, rubella, diphtheria, polio and hepatitis B. The
entire process can be really overwhelming for new parents. That is why there is
a list of the immunizations that should be a must at your Charlotte pediatric clinic. They have been grouped together into different
age groups for your convenience.
Birth
Your baby is at its most vulnerable
right around this time. New born babies have very weak immune systems and are
at risk to a number of communicable diseases. To protect them, you must keep
their surroundings really clean. Regularly sanitize their toys as well.
New-born babies require the first three doses of the HepB vaccine. This vaccine
protects your child from Hepatitis B. Babies are much more vulnerable to
Hepatitis B than adults and it is very important to inoculate them.
One
to Two Months
Around this period of your baby’s
life, regular vaccination is required. Start protecting your baby and provide
it with the necessary immunity. Your baby requires inoculations against the
following diseases - Hepatitis B, diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, Hib,
polio, pneumococcal and rotavirus. The DTaP vaccine protects your child from
diphtheria, tetanus and whooping cough. Rotavirus vaccines, polio, and
pneumococcal vaccines are also mandatory for your child’s protection. Ensure
that your Charlotte pediatric clinic
provides these vaccines for your baby.
Four
Months
At four months, your baby again
receives the second dose of the vaccines that it received earlier. Do not miss
out on properly safeguarding your child from diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis,
hepatitis B, polio and pneumococcal complications. Stay on track with the
recommended vaccination schedule provided by the Charlotte pediatric clinic.
Six
Months
At six months of age, your baby
requires the third dose of the previous vaccines. This stage is highly
essential for the protection of your baby. Ensure that your baby plays and
grows in a clean and hygienic environment. Also, inoculate your child against
common but deadly diseases like tetanus and polio.
Seven
to Eleven Months
There are no vaccinations required
during this stage of your baby’s life. However, if you have missed out on
vaccinations in the previous stages, now would be the best time to catch up. As
usual, provide your baby with the recommended inoculations as per your Charlotte pediatric clinic and keep
them safe from harm.
Twelve
to Twenty Three Months
During this period, your child should
receive the final dose of the vaccines that have been mentioned before. The
final dose is essential for securing your baby’s health and future. Also,
provide your child with Hepatitis A and influenza vaccines during this period.
After
Two Years
After two years, take your baby to
the pediatrician regularly for check-ups. Get influenza vaccine shots every
year to protect your kid from influenza. As your child grows, ensure they
receive the recommended shots for pre-teens and teenagers.
