 Lisa     02:33     Technology     1 comment

Mobile apps are dominating the today’s world. There are apps for everything. The main advantage of the apps is they provide instant services. There are apps for booking taxis for hailing rides, ordering food, chatting with friends and for many other functions. Now these apps do the work of the technology. They assist networking professionals, tech support staffs, and other Information Technology people.

These apps help the professionals to do their work faster, better and best. They help them to concentrate more on their work and also simplify their work. If networking and other IT people do some little search to find the tools, they will help the professionals to do access the desktops in a remote manner. These apps can even check the monitor servers, tie up their mobile with the laptop and does many more special functions. Above all, most of these tools are free.

The only difficult task is, users have to trek through the number of different options available on the Android market and also in the other App stores. Here are some of the apps, which will guide the computer professionals in their work and simplify their work easier.

AndFTP

This app was developed by the Lyesoft technologies. It is available for free of cost. This app helps the users who want to connect to the FTP servers. The three main features offered by FTP are, it provides the ability to manage the FTP files, users can access the FTP file browser and also the device file browser. It sets up server credentials to manage the multiple file servers.

To do this, the users have to provide the typical login information. This information includes hostname, username, password and they will have some advanced connection options.

This app provides options for both the local and remote startup folders. With the help of AndFTP, the IT professionals can freely browse, rename, browse, delete and create files, create folders and they can also change the file permission.
Another awesome option is, AndFTP allows the professions to add the similar function like Dropbox on their phone. With this function, users can share very large files easily and instantly with the fellow mates and others.

AndroidVNC

This app was developed by the AndroidVNC team and antersoft. This app is available for free.

This software was basically desktop-sharing software and it allows the IT professionals to remotely connect to the systems and run them via LAN or the internet. Now, AndroidVNC enlarges this ability to Android mobile phones.
With this function, users can look at the computer desktop and control it, no matter where the user is. This app connects to the VNC servers like RealVNC, TightVNC, x11vnc and Apple Remote Desktop.

Shortening the desktop to fit into the Phone’s screen may have some ups and downs. AndroidVNC will not let the cons to happen. It is a neat and most useful app for the professions.

The important thing is the target devices should use VNC.

Astro File Manager

This product was developed by Metago. People can use this for free.
This tool will help the user to move through the block of files and apps that exist on the phone. This tool provides a folder view to the phone. This includes the third-party apps folders and it also includes the contents of the root system folders. A toolbar makes it easy to navigate from one directory to another. It even includes buttons for searching, entry, editing and bookmarking folders. So that users can easily identify the important ones.

The IT and networking managers can use this Astro File Manager to control all the files and keep track of them. It simply allows them to set up a network location via Server Message Block. With this, users can easily view the file permissions and its details. Users can easily copy, delete and rename files.
This tool, kills the tasks, sends files as attachments, creates the backup for the apps and maintains it. The disadvantage with the free apps is, they have to put up with the banner ads.

Bmonitor server Monitor

This tool was developed by bsoft. People can use this for free. One of the most tragic things for the IT professionals is, the servers will go down when they are out of the office and they don’t know such situation has happened there. Bmonitor will frequently update the status of the servers. By doing this, it reduces the stress in the minds of people.

This app tests the servers via the ping port or Web Page monitoring. If the servers of the office are down, this service will ring the employee’s phone and it will alert the employee about the problem.

To ring up the multiple users, the phone numbers of the multiple users are entered in the “alert recipients” field, which is in the setup screen.

All the other events and the errors are logged automatically in a text file on the user’s phone.

One problem with this bmonitor is, as it constantly checks the servers it occupies a great battery power. But the app offers many customization options; it includes how often the user controls over the phone and tests the server.

The protocol that this tool uses is, Secure Shell. It is a network protocol that establishes a secure connection between the connected devices.

This app allows the IT professionals to get protection from firewalls and multiple servers. This app transfers the files to and from the phone in a secured manner. One drawback for the virtual keyboard users is that they can’t use the phone in the landscape mode because this keyboard takes occupies the entire screen. Developers suggest the work in such situation. Resize command can be used to allow the app to fit in the virtual keyboard.

This app was developed by Overlook. As like other apps, this app is also available for free of cost.

This app is a discovery tool for the handy cross-platform network. This app gives the full information about the devices and services running on the network. Ping has a simple test tool, which will test the reachable capacity of a host in an IP. It measures the reachable capacity by calculating the time taken for a pocket to reach the host and return back.

Users can run multiple scans or pings instantly and produce the output in a variety of formats. The various formats include plain text, CSV logs, and HTML tables. This is done for viewing in the app’s console window, a third-party application or a web browser.

NeoRouter for Android

This app is cross-platform VPN product that allows the users to remotely access Mac, windows, and Linux. The android version of the app is made handy to the phone. Small businesses will benefit from this app. This app allows the system administrators to connect to all the computers from any location, which is used to integrate remote access, VPN, file sharing and user management.
